2nd Annual Greek House Director Institute

July 17-20, 2008

The University of Alabama is excited to be holding the Greek House Directors’ Institute this summer in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  We’ve combined presentations and Q & A sessions with social networking opportunities to provide participants with lots of fun and a wealth of information related to their profession.  We look forward to another successful conference experience and hope you will join us this summer at The University of Alabama.

About The Conference

Housing & Check-in Location

Housing is included in the registration fee.  Participants will be housed in one of our new, suite style residence halls in the Riverside Community.  Riverside offers two and four bedroom apartments with a twin bed in each bedroom, a living room, a kitchenette with full size refrigerator and microwave and one or two bathrooms per suite.  Linens are included. 

Airport Information

The Birmingham Airport is approximately 60 miles from campus.  Transportation is available via  taxi service from the airport.  Two services are Custom Transportation 877-642-5438 and Door-to-Door Limo 888-349-1544. The Tuscaloosa Regional Airport is 5 miles from campus. Transportation is available via taxi.

Driving Directions

From Birmingham: Take I-20W/59S from Birmingham.  Take Exit 73, McFarland Blvd., Hwy 82W.  Take the Jack Warner Parkway exit and bear right onto Jack Warner Pkwy.  At the stop light, take a left on to McCorvey Drive.  Riverside will be the buildings to your left at the first light.  Follow the signs to check-in.

Got favorite recipes and/or menus you’d like to share?  Send them with your registration form.  We’ll combine them, make a booklet  and distribute to each conference participant.

*The Placement Exchange!

The House Directors’ Placement Exchange will be an opportunity for campuses and Greek chapters looking to hire house directors to meet with current or potential house directors looking for exciting new career opportunities.  Held in conjunction with the House Directors’ Institute, the Placement Exchange will take place from 1:30 – 5:00pm on Saturday, July 19th beginning with a Meet and Greet from 1:30-2:00.   If you would like to participate in the Placement Exchange, be sure to indicate your interest on the Institute registration form.   Completed forms are due by July 8th.  Click here for details on how to register for the Placement Exchange as an applicant or an employer.  For more information, click here.
