The Housing Application Process

 

NEW FRESHMEN

 

Apply Online For Housing

(NOTE: This link takes you to the UA portal, mybama. Once you log in, you should see, in the center of the screen, a section called Currently on myBama. The link to the Online residence housing application is in that section under Campus Housing - see the illustration below.)

You must be admitted to the UA, and you must pay your freshman enrollment deposit before you will be able to apply for housing if you are an incoming freshman. The housing application is a 3-step process. Step 1 - Apply for housing, Step 2 - Electronically sign the contract, and Step 3 - Pay the $250 deposit ($25 application fee and $225 prepayment).

For the housing application for the spring only and summer terms, you will complete your community, roommate and living-learning community preferences information in the first part (including ), electronically sign your contract in the second part, and complete the payment in the third part.

The housing application will not be considered complete until all 3 parts have been completed.

The housing application may not be available on Sunday mornings from 8 am to 12 pm due to system maintenance.

TRANSFER STUDENTS AND CURRENT UA UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

 

Due to the tremendous demand, we do not expect to be able to accept new applications for on-campus housing from transfer students or UA students not currently living in on-campus housing for Fall 2010.  To assist you in your search for off-campus housing, please visit the off-campus section of our website or call the Off-Campus Hotline at 205-348-7107. If you wish to leave your contact information in the event that housing becomes available you may do so by filling out the online contact information form here (NOTE: It could be June or July before we will know if any housing will be available)

 

Online Living-Learning Community Application:

 

 

If you are applying for the Blount Living-Learning Community, please apply to the Blount program application.

If you are applying for the Honors College Community, please apply to the Honors College.

If you would like to request to live in one of our living-learning community residence halls, you can do this by going to the living-learning community descriptions page, and clicking on the application link for the community you wish to apply for.

 

Housing Contract:

 

 

You must sign our Nine Month Residence Hall Contract in order for your application to be processed. You will sign the contract electronically when you complete the online application. To view a copy of the contract, please click here.

Mailed Applications:
If you mail in an application, the last page of your application should be our Ninth Month Residence Hall Contract. You may sign and mail this in with the application and prepayment. Please note, paper applications could delay your application date and could prevent you from choosing your room online.

The best thing about living on campus is the ability/responsibility to be involved in your community.  Living on campus teaches you how to work as a team to uphold community living standards.  I can honestly say that I would not be the student I am today if I had not lived on campus during my time at the University.
