HRC Contract Cancellation Request Form

Cancellation Calendar
The cancellation form usually becomes available for students to submit for the following terms on the dates listed below (unless the day falls on a Saturday):
Fall Semester (current year or following year) - October 1st
Spring Semester - October 1st
Summer Terms - April 1st

Note: This form is a request for cancellation, and it is being submitted for Contract Cancellation Committee review. You are NOT guaranteed approval unless you will not be attending UA. Students will not be released from their contracts between fall and spring semester to move to off-campus housing or to a sorority or fraternity house. After the Contract Cancellation Committee reviews your request, you will be notified via email of the committee's decision (for anyone other than a student that will not be attending the UA, please allow up to two weeks). All cancellation fees, prorated housing charges, and other charges as stipulated by the housing contract will apply, in the event that cancellation is granted.

Study Abroad/Internship/Co-Op

Please fax, e-mail or bring to the HRC office, documentation of your participation in the above activity. Please note, to receive on-campus housing when you return, you must apply for housing by all HRC deadlines. If possible, please complete the housing application, contract, and deposit prior to leaving. You are not guaranteed your same residence hall upon your return, although we will try, space permitting, to accommodate your request.

When is your proposed move out date, if your contract cancellation is granted?



You must check out of your residence hall room with a staff member in order to avoid improper check out charges. If you check out before your contract cancellation, and it is not granted, you will still be responsible for housing charges.

By submitting this application, you acknowledge that this is only a request, and contract cancellations are granted at the discretion of Housing and Residential Communities. Cancellation requests for students not attending the UA are normally automatically approved as long as the student does not enroll for classes. For anyone other than a student that will not be attending the UA, please allow up to two weeks. After the Contract Cancellation Committee reviews your request, you will be notified by your crimson e-mail account of the committee's decision.

Per your housing contract, if you are released from your contract, you will be responsible for any fees that accrue, based on the date of your contract cancellation.
